Our story: sun protection specialists since 1999

The story of The Prestige Group began long before the company was founded.

After leaving school at just 16, our founder, James Chapman, began his apprenticeship in the sun protection industry. During those years, he gained the knowledge, experience and skills that would later become the foundations of the company.

When the company where he had completed his apprenticeship closed its doors, James decided to forge his own path. Prestige Sun Blind Company was founded in 1999 with a clear goal: to offer homeowners in southern Tenerife high-quality products, professional installation and exceptional customer service.

The company started in a small office in Callao Salvaje, but soon moved to Armeñime, where we are still based today.

As our reputation grew, so did the company. In 2003, we expanded into high-end outdoor furniture with the creation of Prestige Furniture Company. That same year, James’s mother, Christine Chapman, joined the company to manage the office and furniture showroom, playing a key role for almost twenty years.

In 2005, we purchased the premises from which The Prestige Group still operates today, establishing a permanent base to serve our customers and support the growth of our team. As demand for security shutters and garage doors grew, Prestige Security Company was born, allowing us to offer complete home security solutions alongside our sun protection systems.

Over time, it became clear that bringing the three companies together under a single brand better reflected the wide range of products and services we offered. And so The Prestige Group was born.

In 2013, we purchased the adjoining premises to create a showroom specifically designed to showcase our products, which opened in 2016. In 2019 and 2020, we expanded our workshop and manufacturing facilities, improving our production capacity, stock storage and, above all, the service we provide to our customers.

Following Christine’s retirement in 2022, Faye Chapman, co-owner of The Prestige Group and James’s wife, took over the day-to-day management of administration and the showroom. Her dedication and commitment remain an essential part of the company’s success.

Today, The Prestige Group specialises in premium sun protection, outdoor living and home security solutions, working exclusively with renowned European manufacturers. Rather than offering the widest possible range, we carefully select products that meet our demanding standards of quality, design and reliability. These are products we would confidently install in our own home.
